Cardboard Testimony

My sister and brother-in-law's church (FBC Florence, MS) did this recently at church. It's called Cardboard Testimony. As I watched this video, I became acutely aware of how gracious my God is. Although I knew some of the people up on the stage, it touched my heart just to see how much God had affected each life written on a piece of cardboard in 10 words or less.

Take a look. (Oh, and that's my wonderful sister and brother-in-law singing in the background. They're gooood.)

After watching this, I started to think about what my cardboard testimony would be. There are several seasons of my life that I could put on a piece of cardboard in 10 words or less. It's really hard to narrow it down. I'm a pretty in depth person and I hate narrowing things down. (My senior English teacher taught me how to do this when I was getting into journalism and I seem to have lost all sense of that ability with anything other than sports.)

However, here are a few that I came up with:

- Was working to please others; now dependent on Him to work through me.
- Determined to be the perfect Christian; Realized only his blood makes me perfect.
- Thought relationships determined who I was; His relationship is the only one that matters.

Those aren't very good (and are more than 10 words), but I've only been at this for about, oh, 15 minutes.

What would your cardboard testimony be?

  1. They are all great testimonies. Thoughts like those don't come from the shallow hearted. Mind would read: Single Without Purpose, Libby, Anna, Katie, Ross, William, and Randi. God is GOOD.
