Dearmom

Today would've been my sweet Dearmom's 91st birthday. Dearmom is mom's mom and she was just that. A dear mom.

Dearmom died just short of her 90th birthday last year in a freak car accident. About a week before I believe.

She was such a special woman with a special heart rooted in the love of her Savior and her Bulldogs. I have no doubt that she's up in heaven right now, sitting next to her Willie (my Boppie), listening to him talk about the good ol' days at Mississippi State. Y'all, the man could tell a story.

She's probably singing, "Do Lord" too while also reminding the ladies not to "guffaw".

Dearmom taught me so much through the years that she was here on Earth. She showed me how to be a woman of God and gave me the most important woman in my life and best role model I could ever ask for -- my mom.

At the funeral, the minister talked about a twinkle that all of the Stone women have in their eye. He said there was just something special about it. Since that time, I've started noticing that twinkle. And it reminds of the dear woman who put it there.

She instilled some great values in this family and, with Boppie, built an unbelievable and undeniable legacy of faith, family and compassion. She has welcomed to her family three sons-in-law and a daughter-in-law, 12 grandchildren and eight grand-spouses, and 12 great-grandchildren. And she welcomed all of them with an overflowing cup of love.

So, Happy Birthday Dearmom! We miss you and love you. See you soon.
